Theory

  1. The ultralight airplanes syllabus requires 40 lessons of aerodynamics and flight mechanics, building and construction of sport flying machines, procedures UL1, UL2, UL3, navigation, meteorology, engines, propellers and aerial apparatuses.
  2. After completing 16 lessons, you can get airborne for the first time.

Practice

  1. Flying is classified by four grades. Getting grade 1 or 2 means continuation with the next lesson. Grade 3 means repetition of the last lesson, grade 4 requires to return one lesson backwards.

The end of course

  1. Sets in, if the student fulfils the basic syllabus and is, according to the meaning of the instructor, ready to approach the final exams.
  2. The issue of pilot licence is decided by inspector based on the results of theoretical and practical exams.

Attention! According to the training syllabus, it is essential to pass at least 20 flight lessons. This must be understood only as an imposed minimum which fulfilment does not automatically leads to the pilot licence. Usually, it is better to count in a few additional lessons.

Only those who are really able to fly will be allowed to approach the final tests.

Requirements on a student

  1. Student pilot must be at least 15 years old. A person under 18 years of age must have an approval from a parent.
  2. Our student needs a medical check certificate.
  3. For each student, it is preferable to be a Greek LAA member.

Where we teach

  1. Theory lessons under control of CAA GR take place in Heliline Offices or at students place.
  2. Practical flight lessons take place in different aeroclubs in Greece.

For how much

  1. Theory training - 10 hours - EURO 500,00 (Not incl. textbooks and learning tools)
  2. Flight lesson 1 hour on Ulralight airplane - EURO 125,00- (training and rent)
  3. Theory training is paid beforehand, the flight lessons by parts, always after the finishing of the lesson.
